Stupidity

Stupidity was the second-most common element in the galaxy, second only to hydrogen, while TIE fighter ball cockpits weren't that far behind. Everybody suffered from it to some degree, even the most powerful of the Jedi Masters and Sith Lords, though in some species, such as the Gungans, this element appeared in particularly high concentrations. It was sometimes possible to excise one's stupidity, but this was very difficult and most attempts were unsuccessful. Some were quite spectacularly so, in fact, such as when Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin attempted to cure the galaxy of stupidity through prodigious use of the Death Star.
