The Grand Army of the Republic was an army of Clone troopers and ARCs that was formed on 19 BBY. Some of them didn't have guns, some had pieces of cabbage, toothpicks, rubber chickens, air fresheners, over-sized coffee mugs, and pillows. It numbered 3 million 3 billion six zillion trillion a lot of clones.

Composition

Well, it was actually one of those one-man-armies, featuring Commander in Chief Jango Fett, made popular by cheesy Hollywood B-class movies.
