Destroy your Messiah was a threat used by those in power against the unwashed masses who happened to be led by a messiah figure. Near the end of his accidental stay on Earth, Jesus Christ was the center of a plot to destroy your messiah, a plot which only apparently succeeded. Jesus, meanwhile, had used the Force to ensure his own survival and escape back to the galaxy.
