Cold was a planet in the Outer Rim. As the name might suggest, it was filled with volcanoes and lava lakes. Not much could survive on the planet, this was because of the intense heat on Cold. The average temperature on the planet was 200 degrees, the exact opposite of the temperature on Hoth. The name Cold for a very hot planet may seem strange, that's because it is. It is believed that the two planets were mixed up thousands of years ago. The mistake was discovered by the Empire when they dispatched a garrison of snowtroopers to the planet. The Rebels also discovered the mistake, but didn't report it to the Empire. After the mistake was discovered it was suggested the planets should be renamed to their original names. But, because renaming the planets would cause even more confusion, it was decided not to rename them.
