Aqualish were strange walrus men with asses on their faces. Because they had asses on their faces they were wanted in twelve star systems for looking weird. Ponda Baba was a well-known one-armed Aqualish.
A lot of the strange walrus men with asses on their faces were captured by bounty hunters and brought to one of the twelve star systems were they were wanted. Once they arrived there they would be sold to the local authorities who would then make fun of them for having asses on their faces before releasing them again. Sometimes they would be sold to rich people who would keep then as slaves and make fun of them for the rest of their lives and even after they had died.... but it was less fun when they were dead. By some it was considered a "the best gift ever" to bring an Aqualish to a birthday party, especially young kids enjoyed making fun of them for a day.
